Medical Advocates Mission Statement

When we are patients, we believe that the medical community will provide the better service if we are physically accompanied by our own personal "medical advocate" during all visits to doctors, to hospitals, and all other medical service providers.

As patients, we believe that our "medical advocate" may be a relative, an unrelated friend, or an individual introduced to us by Medical Advocates at its world-wide web site of www.MedicalAdvocates.org

As patients, we believe that the watchful eye of our own medical advocate will encourage the delivery of prudent medical attention, will help prevent inadvertent medical errors, and will help us to be treated with dignity by the medical profession.

As patients, we understand that the medical community shall provide all medical services, but we also believe that our "medical advocate" acting in the role of a protective "chaperon" will help us get the best medical services available.

As patients, we want somebody "on our side", "looking out for us", and we want that individual to be our own "medical advocate".
